The North Tipperary Child and Family Primary Care Psychology department provides assessment and intervention to young people aged 0-17 years and their families who are experiencing emotional and/or behavioural difficulties or mental health difficulties of a mild/moderate nature.
The HSE National Counselling Service is a professional, confidential counselling and psychotherapy service available free of charge in all regions of the HSE. The client group are adults who have experienced trauma and abuse in childhood with priority given to adult survivors of institutional abuse in Ireland.
Eligibility: Counselling provided to adults, aged 18 years and upwards in the areas of abuse, sexual abuse and trauma.
The HSE Disabilities Occupational Guidance Service provides information, advice, support and direction to people with a disability who wish to access rehabilitative training and sheltered services.
The services offered include:
HSE Disabilities services are responsible for coordinating the range of Health and Social Service provision for children and adults with disabilities, also including respite and home support services, Day or Rehabilitative training services and residential services. These services may be delivered directly or in partnership with a wide range of non-statutory service providers.
Target Group: Children and Adults with a Sensory, Intellectual or Physical Disability.
The Health Promotion service gives guidance and support around making choices regarding being active, schools policy development, smoking, weight management, alcohol intake, rest and relaxation. Training and support can also be provided to staff/volunteers that would like to roll-out a Basic Healthy Eating and Cooking Skills Programme with their groups. In addition Health Promotion is currently setting up smoking cessation clinics in North Tipperary.

As part of the TETB’s training services programme, Local Training Initiatives (LTIs) are project-based training and work experience programmes carried out in the local community and run by local community groups throughout Tipperary. They are designed for people who are unemployed, and who are experiencing difficulty in gaining entry to the labour market. Courses are QQI accredited, full-time and delivered all year round. Macra na Feirme is an Irish voluntary rural youth organisation. The organisation provides a social outlet for members in sport, travel, public speaking, performing arts, community involvement and agriculture.

Male Advice Line offers confidential advice and support to male victims of domestic violence and abuse over the phone. It is managed by the Men’s Development Network and is supported and funded by Tusla’s Domestic, Sexual and Gender Based Violence section.

A Men’s Shed is a dedicated, friendly and welcoming meeting place where men come together and undertake a variety of mutually agreed activities.
All Men’s Sheds are independent and self-autonomous, and the range of activities carried out by sheds can differ from one to the next. Most sheds engage in activities such as woodwork, gardening, carpentry and community work. However, there are more special interests sheds that focus on things like music, fishing and restoration work.
