Tipperary Civil Defence is a volunteer-based second-line Emergency Service which assists the HSE, An Garda Síochána, and the local Authority in emergency situations. The Civil Defence also provides assistance to the community in the provision of First Aid, Ambulance cover, search for missing persons and response in adverse weather.
There are Civil Defence units currently in Clonmel, Thurles, Nenagh, Carrick ,Ballyporeen, Kilcash, Ballingarry and Bansha
Eligibility as volunteer: Aged 18 – 70 years; To have free time; Garda clearance; ability to work as part of a team; and to be willing to attend training.
Monday – Friday, 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.
