Special Olympics is a sports organisation for people with an intellectual disability from the age of 4 years old with no upper age limit. Currently almost 8,000 athletes from across the island of Ireland participate in 15 different sports through Special Olympics.

Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI) offers needs-led information, advocacy and support at any stage of the life cycle, from the antenatal stage onwards. It can include providing support for housing applications, facilitating transition into schools, making links with other services, and supporting young adults to make the transition from home to a new environment . The Family Support Workers also organise regular coffee mornings for parents to facilitate peer support.
This service provides outreach support to individuals and families who have been recently bereaved by suicide. The Suicide Bereavement Liaison Officer (SBLO) can meet with a bereaved family, at their request, as a group or individually in the immediate aftermath of a suicide. The SBLO’s role is to support, sign-post and connect families with relevant service providers as needed.

Suir Valley Community Based Drug Initiative, managed by Waterford and South Tipperary Community Youth Service, offers a safe confidential space to explore substance misuse behaviour. Tipperary Down Syndrome Association is a parent-led group providing support for families with children with Down Syndrome. Based in Abbey Road, Thurles, the group organises recreational activities, such as hip-hop dancing and yoga, family outings, and social activities for the young people. It also provides professional Speech and Language Therapy services and educational tuition for individual children whose families request it.
Tipperary Education and Training Board (TETB) has responsibility for providing education services at Post Primary level in the 9 ETB Secondary Schools in the county. It also has a lead role in rolling out Further Education and Training programmes, which include Youthreach, Voluntary Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS), Post Leaving Cert (PLC) courses, Apprenticeships, and Community Training.
TETB also has responsibility for youth services development in the county.

The Tipperary Garda Divisional Protective Services Unit is charged with the investigation of specialised crime categories, including sexual crime, child abuse, Domestic Abuse and on-line child exploitation, including child pornography. This unit and others have been set up around the country in recent years as part of An Garda Síochána’s Modernisation and Renewal programme. The unit includes Specialist Interviewers whose main function is to interview persons under the age of 14 years who have been a victim of a sexual or violent incident or have witnessed same.

Living Links is a voluntary organization offering a support service free of charge and available to any person in the community including emergency personnel, Gardaí and clergy etc., who have in any way been affected by suicide.
