Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI) offers needs-led information, advocacy and support at any stage of the life cycle, from the antenatal stage onwards. It can include providing support for housing applications, facilitating transition into schools, making links with other services, and supporting young adults to make the transition from home to a new environment . The Family Support Workers also organise regular coffee mornings for parents to facilitate peer support.

The Tipperary Branch of SBHI is a committee of parents representing a network of families who have family members with Spina Bifida/Hydrocephalus. The branch is affiliated to the national office. It links with its members when family events are organised by the Family Support Worker. It undertakes fund-raising for the SBHI agency and also provides financial help to families on a discretionary basis.
