Community Substance Misuse Team is a multi-disciplinary team providing support to adolescents (under 18 years) and their parents when impacted by substance misuse.

Community Substance Misuse Team works with young people, families and the wider community to lessen the impact of substance misuse. Adopting the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (ACRA), the service works with the young person to change his/her behaviour and identifies the external resources – familial, social, recreational and occupational – that can support and reinforce the desired change.

The service also coordinates the ’Strengthening Families’ programme in North Tipperary.

Target Groups: i). Young people under 18 years with substance misuse issues ii). Young people up to the age of 24 if suitable for the service. This is decided on assessment.

Referral: Self-referrals and referrals by other agencies.
