The Carrick-on-Suir Neighbourhood Youth & Family Project aims to enhance the life chances of young people and their families in Carrick-on-Siúir and to assist them to reach their potential by providing targeted Youth work programmes and family support responding to emerging needs in the community
Services include:
- The provision of a universal Youth Work service supported by volunteers in a community setting to all young people aged 10-18 in the town and its environs, including young people with special needs.
- The Family Support service provides support in a community setting to all young people and families referred into the project. Family Support interventions include the Common Sense Parenting programme and the Non-Violent Resistance programme, either one-to-one with parents or as a group.
Target group:
Youth Work service
- Universal Youth Work service is for all young people, aged 10 – 18 in the town and surrounding areas.
- Targeted work with young people, aged 10 – 18 years, or parents who are referred by Túsla, An Garda Síochána, Schools and other key individuals in the community.
Family Support service: Children and young people, aged 10 - 18 years, and their families from Carrick-on-Siúir and environs.
Referral: For targeted youth work and family support, referral by Túsla Prevention Partnership & Family Support Programme, Schools and other agencies.
