Tipperary town youth project, Youth Work Ireland Tipperary

Youth Work Ireland Tipperary (YWIT) adopts a rights-based, youth-led approach to foster learning, innovation, hope and high expectations in young people, their families and their community. Its methods of engagement with young people include group work, individual supports, drop in and outreach work.

The Tipperary youth project engages with young people in relation to social and personal development issues such as family/ relationship issues, education, substance misuse, offending behaviour and health. Programmes and activities are chosen based on the needs and interests of the young people and can include arts and crafts, cooking, drama, video production, outdoor pursuits, and health and fitness. Some programmes focus on personal development, social and life skills, and such issues as anger, loss, education and awareness around drugs. The project also provides a Youth Café facility.

Target Group: Children and Young People, aged 8 – 25 years, in Tipperary town.
