Novas provides temporary supported accommodation and services for adults in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.
Novas developed temporary supported accommodation to support individuals who have basic living skills but who require further support in how to run a household and maintain a tenancy. Staff of Prospect House, Nenagh, and Mitchel Street, Thurles, prepare individuals for full independent living through home and life-skills programmes. Prospect House has four housing units while there is one housing unit in Mitchel Street, Thurles with 24-hour on-site staffing.
Staff actively support individuals to re-engage in their local communities and assist in accessing services on their behalf. Staff also provide outreach support to individuals who have moved on from the units to ensure tenancies are sustained and to prevent isolation.
Outreach service Novas, Thurles offers a community outreach programme for people who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless or formally homeless. Services provided include support and advocacy, budgeting and life skills. This is provided from 4 Croke Street, Thurles.
Target group(s): Adult Male or Female individuals or single parent with small baby (Nenagh)
Eligibility: Homeless or under threat of being homeless
Referral: Individuals who meet the criteria for eligibility are required to link in with Tipperary County Council staff at one of the weekly Homeless Person’s Clinics in Nenagh, Thurles or Roscrea. Prospective referrals are discussed at fortnightly meetings of the North Tipperary Homeless Action Team which Novas staff attend, along with staff from other North Tipperary services.
