Categories
HSE Psychology provides the following services for children and young people with disabilities or suspected disabilities:
- Disability Psychology Service (0-5 Years): Assessment and diagnosis of children 0 –5 years with developmental delay, providing support to children and their families, psycho-educational workshops for parents and carers.
- Disability Psychology Services, 6 – 17 years: Assessment and diagnosis of children 6 – 17 years; providing support and intervention services to children and their families, psycho- educational workshops for parents and carers.
- Social Care Leader for Disability Psychology Services: Home based intervention programmes aimed at supporting the individual needs of the child and the families, e.g. behaviour difficulties, parenting difficulties and feeding.

Target Group: Children and young people with disabilities or suspected disabilities and their families
Referral:
- Disability Psychology Service (0-5 Years): Referral for this service can be made by a health professional or G.P., via the South Tipperary Referral Forum, South Tipperary Therapy Services, HSE Community Services, Western Road, Clonmel, Co Tipperary. Disability Children’s (0-5 years) Psychology is provided as part of multi-disciplinary processes in place.
- School Age Disability Psychology Services, 6 – 17 years Referrals are made by a Health Care professionals or GP, and Assessment of Need officers. Parental permission is required for referral.
